The primary mission of NJ Rep is to develop and produce new plays with diverse themes. It is also devoted to creating an atmosphere where classics can take on a fresh look and forgotten plays can find a home.

NJ Rep is proud to offer playwrights the opportunity to develop their new works in a creative setting, so in addition to NJ Rep's Main Stage productions, 20-25 staged readings are presented each year. These readings give playwrights a chance to hear their play, discuss it with an audience and further develop it as needed. A discussion follows each reading.

The New Jersey Repertory Company plays an integral role in the revitalization of the Broadway corridor in Long Branch.

New Jersey Repertory Company, an IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, always welcomes support from individuals and businesses. Our financial viability is continually dependent on generous donations and grants in addition to aid from local, county and state sources. All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

This program has been made possible in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, and the National New Play Network.
