Last year, Christine teamed up with New Jersey Repertory Company to create, "Getting In Touch With My Inner B*tch,'' a one-woman tour de force musical that brought sellout crowds to the theater every night of its run.
While it was clear that NJ Rep, its patrons and its staff immediately fell in love with the singer, everyone might not have realized that the feeling is mutual. But, it's true: Christine has truly taken NJ Rep into her heart, and she's ready to prove it in a big way.
On Tuesday, Oct. 29, Christine will return to Long Branch. Donating her time, the quick-witted singer and songwriter will give a benefit concert in NJ Rep's intimate Lumia Theatre.
Space is extremely limited for this one-time treat, which is expected to raise more than $6,000 for the nonprofit theater. Tickets are $75, $25 of which will be tax deductible.
One dozen lucky fans will have the opportunity to meet and greet Christine as well as have the best seats in the house - right on the stage with her! These special seats are selling for $150 each, $100 of which is tax deductible.
The evening will begin with a buffet dinner and cocktail hour at 7 p.m., followed by the performance at 8 p.m. It will also include a silent auction with items contributed by Lavin as well as some donated from area businesses. Grammy-award winning songwriter Julie Gold, who wrote the haunting hit song "From A Distance,'' will also appear as Christine's special guest. And a silent auction, stocked with Christine Lavin memorabilia and items donated by area businesses will take place, making it a full evening of fun.
